15 Minute No-Sew Adjustable Crib Skirt

Happy Easter everyone! Wishing you a day filled with family, ham, eggs, and the good news that He is risen!

There seems to be this go to phrase in blogland and pinterest that get people instantly more interested in a project:  "No Sew."

No-Sew curtains, No-Sew pillows, No-Sew clothing.  If it can be sewed, then it can probably be no sewed.

Well, I got another one for yah! This is my No-Sew Adjustable Crib Skirt that I made in less that 15 minutes.   I really have no idea how much it cost me (a few dollars probably) since I used materials I already had on hand.

I used a 84 x 24 inch burlap table runner that I had made for my sister in law's bridal shower last November.   And some clothespins.

I simply slipped the material between the metal frame and the wood frame so that the fabric was not quite touching the floor.  Then I used the clothespins to pin it in place.

I started along the front of the crib.  I worked my way down the front, clipping the burlap in place and then cut it to the appropriate length.  I didn't measure, I just cut the excess off when I was finished pinning the front fabric in place.  Then I repeated the process on the other side of the crib.  I didn't bother with the sides that are covered by the walls.  Because, why?

And then I was done! See!?

The best part is that it took me 15 minutes! And the second best part is that when it comes time to  lower the mattress, it's totally adjustable! No sloppy floor mopping crib skirt for us!

And that, my friends, is why No-Sew projects are awesome.

If you wanted to use something other than burlap and keep it a no sew project, you could use no-sew tape.  Or you could be super fancy and sew a couple of straight stitches.  Here (and here) are a couple of additional tutorials on how to make your own crib skirt.  Those are the ones I referenced.

You may notice a couple of new additions to the nursery.  We got our rug in place which I ordered from Home Decorators.  And I threw a little sheep skin rug over that in front of the crib.  It's something I've had for years and have finally found the perfect place for it!

Then there is my "Adventure is out there" map.  Believe it or not, I have actually had this guy for a couple of years now.  I gifted it to Michael when we first moved into our house.  It is a nod to our favorite movie (UP!) and works perfectly with our Great Scout-Doorsman theme.  I was a little worried about the colors in the map working with the room, but I think they actually work pretty well! I'm making additional progress on bringing more color into the room with other artwork as well.  More on that another day!
